There are many advantages to becoming a member of Carter Credit Union and joining is easy! Here are a few advantages of becoming a member of Carter.

Credit Unions are not-for-profit organizations

We exist to serve our members rather than to maximize corporate profits. Like banks, credit unions accept deposits, make loans, and provide a wide array of other financial services. We are member-owned and what that means to you is that we are not owned by a group of stock holders. When you join a credit union, you become a member/owner.

Rates and Customer Service

Fees and loans rates at a credit union are generally lower, while dividend and interest rates are generally higher than banks and other for profit institutions. Every member is important to us and we strive to always provide value to our member's financial well-being.

Membership Access

If you live, work, worship or attend school, or are a business or other legal entity in Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Bienville, Claiborne, DeSoto or Red River Parishes, and Columbia or Lafayette Counties, you can join Carter. Once you join Carter, this enables any of your family members (parents, grandparents, siblings) to automatically become a member and enjoy the many benefits of membership.

If you work at one of our Select Employee Groups (SEGs) you are also eligible to join. To find out, check with your Human Resources department. If your company is not a Select Employee Group with Carter, please give us a call at 1-800-367-5026. Companies can add Carter membership as a FREE employee benefit at no cost.
